Up until August 1992 the people of Quakers Hill Uniting Church worshiped in an old chapel and army huts that stood at the corner of Montrose and Highfield Streets. For many years it was a small, sometimes struggling, group of faithful people maintaining a Christian presence in the area.
When the development of Quakers Hill began it became clear that God was calling the Church to make a decision for the future. After some people from the Uniting Church in Blacktown moved here to provide support for the Church that would eventually emerge the congregation found itself starting to grow. Soon after this a significant group of people from the Philippines joined the Church and established its multi-cultural nature.
Following discussions with the wider Church (N.S.W. Synod of Uniting Church) money was made available for the purchase of land and for construction of new buildings. Discussions with Dalmar Child & Family Care (an agency of Wesley Central Mission) resulted in a partnership with them and the establishment of Quakers Hill Family Services. We give thanks for the vision of faithful people who have propelled us into the many possibilities of the future. Their faithfulness has given birth to a new and renewed Church.
